Emily
I am a passionate and dedicated care professional with over 12 years of experience working across various care settings. Throughout my career, I has developed a deep understanding of what truly makes a difference in peoples lives- time, kindness, respect and genuine human connection.
Having experienced the pressures of rushed care visits and the impact this can have on individuals, I want to create a service that focuses on what often matters the most- companionship, conversation, independence and helping people feel valued in their own homes and communities. I founded Yarrow Valley Care because of this.
I have experience supporting a wide range of individuals, including older adults as well as younger adults with autism, learning difficulties and a variety of additional needs. Through my work in hospitals, home care and my own personal experience supporting loved ones, I have gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of adapting care to the individual rather than expecting people to fit into a set routine. I believes everyone deserves to be understood, listened to and supported in a way that reflects who they are as a person.
My experience includes working as a Senior Healthcare Assistant, a role I most recently held and continue to support through bank work to maintain my skills, knowledge and ongoing training. I have also worked as a Field Care Supervisor for two home care companies, gaining valuable experience not only in providing excellent care but also in supporting teams, coordinating services and ensuring people receive the standard of care that they deserve.
During my career, I have also worked alongside care management teams, supporting with client introductions and helping to ensure new care packages were set up with the individuals needs, preferences and wellbeing at the heart of the process. These experiences have given me a well rounded understanding of care from both a practical and organisational perspective.
My approach is centred around seeing the person, not just the care they require. I believe everyone deserves to have time spent with them, to be listened to and to feel respected and appreciated. I love hearing people's stories, learning about their lives and building genuine relationships based on trust and understanding.
Friendly, upbeat, respectful and thorough in everything I do, I bring warmth and positivity to every interaction. I am passionate about continuing to learn, developing new skills and providing a service that allows people to enjoy meaningful experiences, social connection and the confidence to live life in a way that feels right for them.
For me, caring for others is more than just a career, it is something I truly love and feel privileged to be a part of.
